What We're About

Gospel

The word "gospel" means "good news," and the good news of Jesus changes everything. It is the story of how God loves us so much that He sent His Son, Jesus, into our brokenness to bring us life.

God’s original design for His creation was one of joy-filled life, perfect love, unity and peace. However, mankind has rebelled against God and life as He designed it. This has led us into lives of brokenness...full of things like pain, grief, anxiety. However, God wasn’t willing for that to be the end, so He sent Jesus to pay the price for our sin (the evil in our hearts and lives). That’s why Jesus died on the cross—to take away our shame and guilt by paying the penalty we owed. He was buried in a grave, but 3 days later, He came out of that grave alive showing that He has the victory over sin, shame, and death itself.

At Grace Alive Church, we believe that our salvation and growth to spiritual maturity is not about what we do, but rather what Jesus has done! We are saved as we believe the gospel (John 3:16), and we mature as we grow deeper into the gospel learning how the good news of Jesus literally transforms everything about our lives! (2 Corinthians 5:14-17, Ephesians 2:14-22)

Family

The gospel makes us part of God’s family. That means that not only has Jesus made us right with God, but also right with each other. Not only are we God’s children, but we are brothers and sisters—ONE family adopted by God to demonstrate His love, power, and goodness to those around us. This means that a huge part of the life we live is meant to be done together!

At Grace Alive, we believe that church shouldn’t just come together at church events, but rather we should be doing life together—learning to love one another and live life showing that God is our Father and that as brothers and sisters, the gospel changes how we do all of life’s rhythms. Grace Alive Church is about being responsible for and to one another…we belong together, we are a family! (Ephesians 4:1-6)

Mission

Jesus’ mission is now our mission. Jesus expressed His mission in many ways, but in all things, His goals were to glorify God, save the lost, and demonstrate the power and goodness of God while showing what a restored creation would look like. He declared that He had come to seek and save the lost, bring freedom to captives, bring joy and life.

In John 20:21, Jesus tells us that we have been sent just as He was. We carry His mission and represent Him to the world by proclaiming the gospel to others and demonstrating the power of the gospel through acts of goodness, justice, and mercy. We are on mission together to make disciples of Jesus and show the world what life looks like when Jesus is King of it (2 Corinthians 5:18-21).
